Hello Pretty!

These last few days I have been on a high because of the tremendously nice weather we've been having. I'm talking no jacket, sometimes t-shirt wearing kind of weather. It's gotten both me and Yangkyu excited about starting a compost, tackling our poor yard that has been infested with crabgrass and laying out plans to start our flower and veggie garden. In the next few days I am taking all the pins I've been pinning and other websites I've been bookmarking and going through again the gardening book Yangkyu got me for Valentine's Day and come to some sort of order and understanding of all the wealth of information I've collected about gardening and utilizing outdoor spaces.

I also finally updated my "to-make" list and picked up some much needed supplies yesterday. I can't wait to get my hands busy again.

My hands got busy though in another way last night -- I picked up hair thinning shears and went at it last night in the bathroom. I haven't cut my hair in over a year {maybe two - I lost count} and I have been trimming my own bangs for the past several months. My hair has gotten so long but so thick and heavy as well and while I have been doing everything I can to treat it and give it lots of moisturizer it has still been incredibly knotty. I have been putting them in pigtail braids to avoid the knots but I thought perhaps thinning it out would also help. I made a slight mistake but other than that my hair feels so much lighter. It may not look salon quality but I can live with it!

What do you have planned for the weekend?

We are watching our friend's Shiba Inu and we also have a pair of Yorkies coming for a one night stay through DogVacay. Yangkyu and I are also making new shelves! I can't wait until that's gets done.

Hope you have a wonderful one!

High of the week // donating to the Beagle Freedom Project and reading about their wonderful partner work in Korea

Low of the week // Seeing all sorts of neighbors' garbage trapped in our shrubs due to wind and bad weather and simply because they don't put their garbage out in garbage cans and instead in bags that can easily rip. Irritates me every time! Eep!

I'll take your picture

If you take mine.

While baking oatmeal cookies, our hearts synced in photography harmony. Ha.

I'm waiting for film for our Holga camera to arrive while the one in my Konstruktor waits for me to feel brave enough to try again {went through two rolls of film and couldn't get a decent photo out of any of them}.

I have the Canon AE-1 and Fujifilm x100s (or x100t -- it's newer and pricer) on my wish list. Yangkyu doesn't understand why I need all these cameras. I don't either. If I could turn back time I wouldn't have been so naive about the possibility of a photography gig and prematurely buying a Canon 7D. Instead I think I would've opted for a more compact high performing digital camera to take around with me everywhere and use with ease, free of bulkiness.

I thought maybe I could sell my lenses and dslr but funny me - now that I have a taste it, I don't think I can part with them either.

So now I am just adding more cameras to my wants.

What camera(s) do you shoot with?

Sunday with Friends

On Sunday we had our friends, Rara, Yoel and Mini, their Westie, come over for some food and I think a movie night, which we ended up skipping over conversing about planting veggie gardens, ways to keep mosquitos away and other random things.

Rara had just come back from Spain and she brought over some olives she had picked up from there. I kind of hogged those two cans and had them all to myself. As our other friend Suzanne keeps telling me "Sharing is Caring," which I totally get except when it comes to Vietnamese summer rolls, dumplings and now Spanish olives.

Right Where It Used to Be

The chalkboard wall is back where it used to be.

One of the first things we did when we moved into our new home last July was to turn this wall into a chalkboard wall. It was one of those things on my wish list {along with having white walls} and it enjoyed good run with lots of doodles for about 4 months.

Then I got all "I need change in my life" and the living room became my victim.

The chalkboard wall moved, along with the rest of the stuff, and this wall became a big weird blue question mark that turned into a big weird blue exclamation mark once we added white frames and shelves.

Then I got all "I need change in my life" again after 4 months and now it's back to being a chalkboard wall.

I think if walls had personalities this one is probably having a majority identity crisis right now.

Dear Wall,

You are a chalkboard wall. I promise you won't change ever again. But check back with me in about 4 months. I may have a moment again.

Sincerely,

Me
