like for our wedding - you know how they say you just know when you'll find that dress? well, we just kinda knew when we found our songs! we mixed it up and played what we wanted to play and found a great string strio and pianist to deliver the musical scores.
and if i had to choose favorites out of my favorites?
definitely the piece by miranda wong (i love how there is a twist in the middle of this traditional bridal processional music) and acoustic cafe's version of je te veux. i also have an emotional attachment to the song that my pops and i danced to, changing partners by patti page. it's a song that my parents loved and i grew up listening to it at home.
so here it is.. for the love of music.. the wedding edition.
- groom & attendants' processional: je te veux by erik satie, rearranged by acoustic cafe
- bride's processional: romantic wedding march by miranda wong
- recessional: the palms by j. faure
- couple's reception entrance: signed, sealed, delivered, i'm yours by stevie wonder
- first dance: come fly with me by michael buble
- mother and son dance: what a wonderful world by louis armstrong
- father and daughter dance: changing partners by patti page
other favorites from the wedding?
- michele, my girlfriend's sister, who performed her song "what a surprise, you and i" for us
- friends and family who dazzled the ceremony and the reception
- michelle, our flower girl, who forgot to sprinkle rose petals
- yangkyu's fist pump as he walked down the aisle
- him forgetting to say "i do" and leaving dr. kim hanging there for a few secs (i kinda knew he dozed off and was going to answer for him)
- dr. kim who officiated our wedding
- wedding favors (we donated to the national arbor foundation and the world wildlife fund and tied 300 "our planet earth" pins to messages to guests the night before our wedding)
- my friend min's wonderful design work for our invitations, program book and wedding favor notes
- all the wonderful messages we received through cards and guest books
- our traditional korean dress during pae baek
- getting hair and make-up done (basically being pampered) by the women of vickyc5.
- ok, and the train of my wedding dress and how it turned into a french bustle during the reception..!
