i used to always listen to music on the radio (listening to casey kasem's countdown on z100 over the weekend was like a religious ritual),
but now i hardly listen and have no idea what is current and new.
instead, i rely on npr music, itunes and the tube.

Some of best music I've "discovered" were used in commercials too! These days, I no longer listen to the top charts...too loud and repetitive - a sure sign I'm getting old!

DeleteNPR is my music source. I love NPR. I often peruse movie soundtracks, too. They have turned me on to some good music.

Deleteoh wow, "bright whites" is in a commercial. it's one of my favorite songs! at a show, he mentioned doing commercial jingles in Japan, but he didn't say anything about windows 8. kishi bashi is definitely up there on my favorite artists list!

ReplyDeleteI find music I like everywhere. One song that stands out that I discovered via a tv commercial is the Dandy Warhols "Shakin", It was the background music for a car add. Do you have a grooveshark acct? I'd love to check out your playlist!!!
