remember our konstruktor, the diy camera we got? well, i've been slowly taking pictures with it and over the weekend we stopped by walgreens to get the first roll of film developed. i didn't have high hopes for it and boy i'm glad i didn't set the bar high.
i love this little camera and shooting with film but man is it tricky. the film advance has my head scratchin' and i just don't know when i have shot the entire roll of film because the knob doesn't exactly work the way it's supposed to. a design fail according to some. i'll be reading more forums {like this one} and discussions and taking out our second roll to shoot with. because if my mama taught me anything it's to never quit {unless of course we end up wasting a bunch of film and money.. then i think i should stop. heh.}.
really, all the pictures didn't turn out right, but even with the imperfections, i thought these three came out interesting {because if there was a second thing my mama taught me was to try to find something pretty and interesting everywhere. reeeally had to try hard with these though.}.

DeleteLife is all about practice, trial, and error, and not to mention, your mom definitely gives good advice! Esp about finding something pretty and interesting in everything :) I try to do the same! I think these photos actually turned out pretty interesting, I really love the colors that resulted :) I know you'll get the hang of this camera, Jane!!! Can't wait to see more!

DeleteThe three shots have that Tavi vibe them IMO:) One of the kids in my kid's class did this DIY camera for science fair, and his didn't work at all from what I was told.

DeleteWhat do you mean!? Those are great! The funny thing about film photography is no matter how hard you try sometimes things can go wrong. But the best thing is that the total mistakes can end up being your best images. Especially with cameras like that. Don't be discouraged!

it's definitely fun. i've been fumbling with the film (so weird because i used to use them a lot when i was younger) but hopefully i'll get the hang of it soon.

DeleteI'm in complete agreement with you. I think despite it being hard and maybe not working out the way you wanted them to, these photos are quite beautiful in spite of their flaws. But that's beauty isn't it? To me anyway

DeleteLove the colors!!! I totally get the little (exciting) frustration that come with not knowing beforehand, and even not knowing how to correct, the happy accidents with the lomography cameras :) A part from the knob, how does the konstruktor set the focus?
