remember our konstruktor, the diy camera we got? well, i've been slowly taking pictures with it and over the weekend we stopped by walgreens to get the first roll of film developed. i didn't have high hopes for it and boy i'm glad i didn't set the bar high.
i love this little camera and shooting with film but man is it tricky. the film advance has my head scratchin' and i just don't know when i have shot the entire roll of film because the knob doesn't exactly work the way it's supposed to. a design fail according to some. i'll be reading more forums {like this one} and discussions and taking out our second roll to shoot with. because if my mama taught me anything it's to never quit {unless of course we end up wasting a bunch of film and money.. then i think i should stop. heh.}.

These really ARE interesting! I love how they all look together!
ReplyDeletethanks for seeing the interesting angle with me! :)
DeleteLife is all about practice, trial, and error, and not to mention, your mom definitely gives good advice! Esp about finding something pretty and interesting in everything :) I try to do the same! I think these photos actually turned out pretty interesting, I really love the colors that resulted :) I know you'll get the hang of this camera, Jane!!! Can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteso true jessica. the colors are kinda wonky and interesting huh. i'll keep at it. thanks!
Deletepractice makes perfect right?? keep at it, you will get the hang of it soon enough
ReplyDeletemost def! thanks, meg!
DeleteThe three shots have that Tavi vibe them IMO:) One of the kids in my kid's class did this DIY camera for science fair, and his didn't work at all from what I was told.
ReplyDeletethanks so much emmy :) ah shucks about it not working for the science fair.
DeleteWhat do you mean!? Those are great! The funny thing about film photography is no matter how hard you try sometimes things can go wrong. But the best thing is that the total mistakes can end up being your best images. Especially with cameras like that. Don't be discouraged!
ReplyDeletethanks so much! and totally agree with you about mistakes being the best images!
DeleteI think they're beautiful. Especially the third one, it's so cool!
ReplyDeleteI think they're beautiful too! Very artsy!

DeleteI love toy cameras! It's always exciting (or disappointing) to see the final result. Those pictures look great and hopefully your future rolls will turn out fantastic too :)
ReplyDeletei love them too. and yes - so exciting/disappointing all rolled up in one :)
DeleteI have a camera like this but I have yet to develop the film for it yet.
ReplyDeleteit would be great if you shared! i'm gonna try out my second roll soon. :)
Deletekeep on using it! I can't wait to see how your film pictures change and grow. These look pretty Jane, really :)
ReplyDeletethanks so much juni! i'll keep at it!
Deletethey have a dreamy quality... is your mama by any chance creative like you?
ReplyDeletethank you~ my mama was a oil painter! so she was definitely artsy and creative. :)
DeleteThe photos developed are eerily awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteCertainly interesting results nonetheless, and colours too. Keep going!

ReplyDeleteLove and Ace
it's definitely fun. i've been fumbling with the film (so weird because i used to use them a lot when i was younger) but hopefully i'll get the hang of it soon.
DeleteThey turned out really artistic, Jane!
ReplyDeletethanks trishie!
DeleteI honestly think all these are dreamy and wonderful. It has got that DIY, film photography all over it. I love the blurs and different hues and colours. And keep going, I am so looking forward to more!
ReplyDeletethanks for that! i'll definitely keep at it for sure!
DeleteAhh film + toy cameras such super unpredictable mediums! Happy accidents are fun though and like you I would definitely try another roll and get that helpful google advice :)
ReplyDeletethanks fiona!
DeleteI like the colors in each of them, they are artistic. I don't even remember when was the last time I used films. I had absolutely no interest in photography back then.
ReplyDeletethanks nelah!
DeleteThese are really gorgeous pictures, quite haunting really, I like them :) xx
ReplyDeletei kinda like the haunting aspect as well!
DeleteAhhhh I'm sorry to hear that it didn't turned out as
ReplyDeleteyou had hoped! But don't worry Jane, take it as a
learning experience c: I think these are pretty cool!
Very dreamy and love the mixing of colors ^_^
Xx
thanks mei!
DeleteI'm in complete agreement with you. I think despite it being hard and maybe not working out the way you wanted them to, these photos are quite beautiful in spite of their flaws. But that's beauty isn't it? To me anyway
ReplyDeletei agree with you!
DeleteLove the colors!!! I totally get the little (exciting) frustration that come with not knowing beforehand, and even not knowing how to correct, the happy accidents with the lomography cameras :) A part from the knob, how does the konstruktor set the focus?
ReplyDeleteit's manual focus! which i didn't do so well.. hehe :)
