there is a beautiful japanese garden inside the hillwood estate in washington d.c. it's a pleasant walk where you'll see bonzai trees, koi pond and stylized landscape. there are also these magnificent japanese maple trees. they make such a quiet yet bold statement within the garden. and they are so gloriously red.
