On a hot, muggy, sticky summer day, we walked into Pleasant Pops in the pretty little neighborhood of Adams Morgan in Washington, D.C. Unfortunately, I don't have any other pictures other than the popsicles Yangkyu and I got because I felt a little embarrassed to snap away photos inside {sometimes I get weird like that}, but trust me when I say that it's everything good and better.
I got the strawberry ginger lemonade flavor pop {so good! I wanted to eat like three} and Yangkyu the cinnamon vanilla peach. Right before we left I also got the New Orleans Iced Coffee flavor, which was also good {but still my favorite is the strawberry ginger lemonade. mmmm.}. Our only regret is that we didn't bring Piri along. Why? Because they also sell pupsicles. Oh my dog.
If you're not in the mood for a pop {or two or three}, you can still come and enjoy other things on their menu. It's in a pretty young and hip neighborhood and and atmosphere is pretty chill too. And if Adams Morgan is a ways off of where you plan on being in DC, then you can also check out their other locations in Mount Pleasant, Dupont Circle or near the White House.
Happy pops to you!

ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one who feels that way. But I do get amazed by those who are able to take really great photos inside!
DeleteStrawberry ginger lemonade? Sounds heavenly. I love ginger.
ReplyDeletei love ginger too although this pop didn't have a strong ginger taste. mostly strawberry and lemonade!

DeleteI've never been in DC but I must try this place! My boyfriend and I are foodies so we love trying new places especially when we travel! And the fact that they sell pupsicles is so cute!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I get all weird when I take photos in restaurants. I love food photography but I try to take a photo as quickly as I can haha!
Oh I'm glad I'm not the only one! But there are some who take really great photos inside restaurants and such and I admire them!
DeleteYum! Want it here in Toronto ;)
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteThat looks yummy! I haven't had a popsicle in ages; all the different flavors intrigue me. Will definitely add it to my list next time we visit.
ReplyDeleteI love their different flavors!
Deletepupsicles!!! OMG :) and don't worry sometimes I get crazy camera shy and awkward and don't take any photos even though I really want to. I think I'm getting better - in Byron whilst taking photos at a cafe Ben got shocked and said "you can't just take photos of people like that" ha ha ha. I took that as a HUGE compliment!
ReplyDeletehaha! i know i get super shy but i wish i wasn't! i think it's because i'm also afraid of people telling me not to take photos. it's happened at flea markets and such where vendors would get super annoyed and also inside a bakery. sigh. but i understand where they are coming from -- it's because they've had unpleasant experiences with people snapping away at everything. sigh sigh!
DeleteI've never seen any popsicle-specific shops in my life, but I love the idea of them. I always prefer popsicles over ice cream. And the flavours sound amazing!!
ReplyDeletei think i always preferred popsicles over ice cream as well.. although i do love ice cream too!
DeleteLooks great to me, love popsicles or ice-lollies as they say here :) Marvellous xx
ReplyDeletei like that! ice-lollies :)
DeleteMmmm those flavors sound so good! And I totally get you about not wanting to take pictures inside haha. I don't know how Miho does it, I feel so awkward whipping a camera out in public. Trying to get over it but it's hard!
ReplyDeleteyes! Miho takes such great pictures!
DeleteI get embarrassed snapping photos inside shops too! I don't want to be "that typical Asian". Lol
