Keeping up with resolutions: August reading.


Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple - I love the way this book was written - in emails, letters, narrations - and it had me laughing and pulling for the quirky, one of a kind individual that is Bernadette Fox all the way to the end. OK, the cover kind of was a real eye catcher to me too. I love the illustration!

    This has been on my TBR list for a long time. I think they're turning it into a movie, right? I may be mistaken....
    Reading the 5th book of the Game of Thrones series right now (Dance with Dragons). Not so much reading time though...sigh....

      i actually want to read game of thrones. for some reason it's too gory for me to watch but i think i can read through it! i want to know what everyone is raving about! :)

    Where'd You Go, Bernadette? is a great book! I kind of want to reread it :)

    Currently I'm reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and The Silkworm (so 2 J.K. Rowling books!).

      love harry potter books! i donated most of my books but kept my favorites including all the harry potters ones!

      it was like that for me! i have been meaning to read it but kept forgetting to buy it or when i remembered it wasn't available at a used bookstore that we usually go to. but i finally remembered and picked it up at barnes & noble! glad i did :)

    aw I definitely want to read this. I'm very behind on my list of books to conquer but every time I come across a blog post showcasing books, I'm reinvigorated to finish! =)

      i know what you mean! i sometimes feel like i'm lagging behind and not reading as much as i used to but i was determined to read this year no matter how small amount it would be. it's been good so far.. not anyway near the volumes of books i used to read but it's ok i guess :)

    I loved that book too! I am reading Orphan Train right now and it's really good. I read books on a Kindle device, but seeing your photo kind of makes me miss old fashioned paper books. :)

    Haha I did not care for Gone Girl...too contrived and I guessed the big twist and figured it out half way through it was a total bore after that. I am reading " A Constellation of Vital Phenomena"

      i have to read a lot about gardening and such - so much to learn before starting up my own garden and caring for grass. hope you'll get in some more reading time while you are away for your anniversary!

    I'm reading an interview book by Alec soth But I don't think it really counts as it's like a 30 minute read :P but I'm going slow because I'm enjoying it so much!

    I read an amazing book on holiday. It's been an age since a book shuddered my bones and inspired me so much....The Rabbit Back Literature Society. I loved it so much that I may have to blog about it x
