A crochet hexagon wall decoration.

I saw this beautiful crochet hexagon wall hanging and wanted to make some for myself. So I grabbed my hook and learned how to crochet a hexagon, since I already learned how to do puff stitches from making my sunburst granny squares. The edges don't look quite as sharp {what's the trick?!} but I still like the way it came out. 

We live right next to the woods so I went out one day and grabbed a bunch of sticks for this project and will go out more for some other yarn craft ideas I have in the back of my head. 

I actually had two more hexagons but I got lazy and didn't secure the end properly and so it all unraveled. That unraveling feeling is terrible. Oh boy. Maybe I'll make more hexagons or something else will join this wall hanging. I just like that I finally have something up on that wall which remained bare all this time.

    Aww this is cute! What an inventive way to cover some spaces you might have in the house. I wish I was crafty, but I'm not unfortunately :( Maybe I can work on it lol

    this is so neat! I rather like that your version is more "rounded." It's a nice contrast.
    I have always wanted to learn how to crochet/knit. My mother taught me once and I had fun practicing but this never materialized into anything more. I always meant to pick it back up to make a scarf or a hat. Then I just became lazy about the whole process. Did you find the learning process challenging?

      thanks! and the learning process wasn't challenging at all! i used to get so down on myself if i had a little mistake. it was such an eyesore but now i've learned to let it go and finish it and hope to get better next time. i like little imperfections. they kind of make it perfect :)

    Oh this came out GREAT! I was talking to my coworker today about how she knit these toy hippos and she explained and was like oh my this is going over my head I can't even braid my hair haha. But the hippos are so cute! This month we featured knitted hedge hogs.

    Oh Jane! How beautiful! And you've made me remember something that I'd thought long forgotten....My mum used to make crochet wall decorations too. She made owls and made them look like they were perching on sticks - using things that she found in our garden! Thank you so much for giving me this memory to cherish xx

    Looks great, crisp edge or not. I'm in the midst of knitting a slouchy shrug, but I think I skipped a stitch somewhere. Oh darn.
