Hi.
This is Loki. She is a 2.5 year old Australian Shepherd/Spaniel mix. She came to Piri's Place 5 days ago and have kept us in high spirits with her sweet mannerisms. We go on long walks together during which time her squirrel monitor works without fail. Loki also likes to give you licks on the hand, arm and face and always wins staring contests. Her underbite is cute and her colors, from her coat to her eyes, are stunning. Her name means God of Mischief/Trickery but she is certainly not a trickster. She is a complete sweetheart.
This is Jacky (left), 3 months, and Cookie (right), 4 months. They are a brother and sister Jack Russell Terrier pair that came yesterday and staying just a night. Although it's just a night, boy does it feel like a JRT hurricane ripped through our house. When they are highly energetic they play nonstop - tackling each other, running and stumbling as they are still trying to balance in this big wide world, chewing, scratching, digging and barking at the bigger dogs - Loki and Piri - as if they are showing them who is boss. Ah, it's great to be a puppy, no? But just as quickly, the storm dies down and they all of the sudden climb on top of one another and fall asleep and nap and turn our hearts to a big messy puddle in the process.
Some other characteristics I noticed during their short stay with us -- Cookie likes to come into your lap while Jacky likes to bite your hair, arm and your clothes. Even though Cookie is older, her younger brother steals her toys and wins most of their wrestling matches, but boy does Cookie give one heck of a fight. She's a tough girl. A tough Cookie! And Yangkyu is totally, absolutely, completely smitten with her.
The both of them though, so incredibly cute.
Loki, Jacky and Cookie are our latest guests at Piri's Place. They all leave today later in the evening. It's always a little sad when guests leave, but I always look forward to alone time with Piri afterwards. But I am always thankful for our guests for bringing out Piri's youthful side. He sometimes breaks into a prance or throws a tennis ball around. I think the bright playful energy of all our guests rubs off on Piri in a really positive way.
