This is really embarrassing to admit but I am horrible at using and throwing out tons of paper towel sheets. Any time I cook, I go through way too many. I tried using washable clothes but they would get drenched way too quickly and would end up with smelling moldy. Yangkyu always tries to encourage reusing paper towel sheets especially ones that aren't dirty from wiping up messes but ones I used to dry my hands. I thought it was a great idea, but what drove me nuts was when Yangkyu would use any available countertop space to dry reusable sheets.
Because I wanted to be better about saving and reusing this year, I decided to make a little paper towel sheet drying line. It's funny how one little idea can really improve the way I do things. Now we have plenty of sheets ready to be reused to clean up messes done by me or the dogs.
Yay.

I am so guilty of this! Ugh, I use a ton of paper towel sheets when I cook :(
ReplyDeleteI always wonder why I use so much! D:
DeleteGreat idea! I am guilty of this habit as well. I try to use washable dish cloths as much as I can!
ReplyDeleteMe too! Perhaps I should invest in more washable dish clothes and not just rely on one.
DeleteI am so the same, which drives my husband crazy! Hehe
ReplyDelete;)
DeleteThat's a great idea Jane! I'm oddly frugal when it comes to using paper towels.
ReplyDeleteThat's good! I shall join your ranks one day! ;)

Haha!! lolol
Deleteaww this is so sweet, people always make fun of me by how much I reuse things, I just hate potentially good things going to waste! It may be crazy to others but I think on the flip side are so many positive reasons!
ReplyDeleteOh I love people who reuse! My husbands likes to reuse but most of the times he forgets what he holds on which kind of drives me nuts. But I am always blown away by how people are able to come up with ways to reuse things! So needed! Everyone should practice it!
DeleteI'm all about this and only try to use them when I really need to.

That's so great Mat!
Deletewhat a great act. i try to use tissue as minimal as possible in everyday life.
ReplyDeleteSo so good to hear!
DeleteI am mindful about my paper towel usage too!
ReplyDeletewhat a great way to be resourceful! I hate wasting paper towels too. I try to avoid using them but, when I do, I like to be strategic about how I use them so by the end of its life, I'll have used it the best I could have. I'll have to keep this method in mind!

Wow this is an absolutely amazing idea!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea! I am super conscious of this too, so I try to only use them for when I HAVE to throw them out after using them. For cooking, I use a dish rag that I wash often :)
ReplyDeleteHa! I totally reuse "clean" paper towels too (especially to clean up after Toby) and my husband thinks I'm nuts :-) But it's so wasteful otherwise, so I won't be stopping anytime soon!
ReplyDeleteGood job Jane! I feel super guilty of how much towels I've been
ReplyDeleteusing.... even for the slightest stain I use a towel for it.
I've actually seen this reuse technique before at this show
called 'Cheap Skaters' and I've learned a lot about saving money
and what not haha Xx
Such a good idea, I'm totally gonna implement that system in my kitchen ad I must admit I am absolutely guilty of using too many paper towels also !
