christmas in dc

over the weekend we strolled over to the white house to see the national christmas tree. i love seeing little kids whispering "wow" and couples trying to take self-shots while trying to also get the entire backdrop (we tend to offer to take the pictures for them because we know all too well what this feels - lol).

we first came to see the national christmas tree two years ago when we first moved to the area. we love the big tree, but the little trees running all around the area marked by all 50 states and territories are our favorite. this year we spotted new york, new jersey, maryland and california - all states where we once lived, but unfortunately we missed virginia. somehow we ran into hawaii and it brought up our desire to move there again (this comes up every year or so but never goes anywhere..)

we love christmas in dc.
we hope you're taking in all the festive lights and sounds of the holidays wherever you may be.

xoxo,
jane

  3. Oh, it looks so magical. Carolers and everything. I love how they do a tree for every state. That's a nice touch. :)

    1. It is a great touch. Florida was all orange and citrus-y with their ornaments and Hawaii had a surfer dude ornament :)

  4. Wow the national Christmas tree has such a majestic feel and I love how it's decorated? Do they change it up every year? I'd love to see it in person one of these years. I finally got up to see the tree in Rockerfeller Center last week and that's always a treat despite the crowds.

We were def. one of the lucky ones with regards to Sandy. How long ago did you live in NY?
I think Won Bin got hotter when he moved from dramas to film lol ;)

    1. Nothing beats the tree at Rockefeller! I miss that tree. You know, to be honest, the National Christmas Tree looks sorta the same to me from two years ago unless I'm not remembering correctly :)

  8. Oh yea! I went to the DC christmas tree display when I was much younger. Such giant trees they have there!

Also... I find it impossible to act 'natural' when I get my picture taken. I guess it takes practice... but yea, I always feel so awkward when getting my photo taken. I think you look so cute in your photos~~
