the presents are wrapped and the cards all signed

AND mailed if you can believe that. i didn't think we were going to make it this year. we were late with buying gifts and it took us forever to take a family picture for our holiday card. i had imagined the perfect shot to go with the card text that i had created back in november, but it just didn't quite play out the way i had imagined. but i'm ok with this. :)

i'm just glad the wrapping, writing and sending of everything is done. last year, i cut out letters from old newspapers and used them to id the gifts instead of using gift tags. i did it for our niece on's gift and that was it. i ran out of patience. i didn't make gift bows either and just went with twine. i liked how wrappings turned out this year though. simplicity is the way to go.

big props to yangkyu for spending his past two lunch breaks standing in long lines at the post office. he deserves a cookie. or more like extra hours for video games.

happy holidays!

jane

  4. i loooove wrapping gifts and labeling them and what not! Such a good idea to do them in all the same wrapping paper! It looks so lovely. Strangely enough, I didn't know that much about scandinavia until I met Ø...but i am learning so much now hahaha

    1. Yes! I love wrapping gifts but I'm terrible at it! lol - I started using one color last year and it just looked simple and clean. But when I look at other wrapped gifts in different patterns and color I wonder if I should've done the same thing :)

    1. Thank you!! I'll have to replicate the newspaper idea for other things and maybe invest in a stencil. Printing out letters using my favorite fonts and then tracing and cutting out again was just too painful to do.. and folks who have long names.. forget bout it.. :)

    1. Thank you! I kinda like how they turned out as well. I tend to use a lot of color and strings and what not, but I liked the simplicity this year. Plus I had no time so it all worked out!
