some instagrammed, some not.
xoxo,

// late last night, i found out that someone i know on instagram suddenly slipped into a coma after heart surgery and passed away. she shared the world from her perspective through her feed and they were always so rich, vibrant and colorful. we were also connected through the bigger circle of cocker spaniel owners on instagram -- she had two, jenny who crossed the rainbow bridge earlier, and her new pup, forward. the group of cocker spaniel owners who i have formed a special bond with on instagram have supported each other as some of our dear cocker spaniels have passed, but never an owner. this is all very shocking and heartbreaking. i have been reading the words of some who were very close to her and it's saddening to see their hearts break as well. rest in peace, leyla. you will be missed...

So sorry, Jane - hope you are okay.
ReplyDeleteoh, this breaks my heart. I'm so sad to hear this. The ability to connect on social media is a unique bond...and of all the platforms out there, Instagram is my favorite one. This isn't because it's just a "pretty picture" per se but, it's literally seeing things from the user. It's not easy capturing something in a square photo...especially trying to capture the unique beauty of something that may not easily transfer through a lens. To lose someone who was able to do this in such a beautiful way is sad news. I'm sorry for your loss but also the loss for all her followers. =/

ReplyDeleteBtw, lovely Instagram photos as always :) For some strange reason, I'm totally in love with that photo of you in the empty car garage! Maybe because it's such a rarity here in NYC :)
:( that is so sad. and its amazing how someone can really impact the world through social media.
ReplyDeletethat is really sad to hear :( I'm sorry :( it's always really eerie when someone from online passes away...because you have no proper way to really say goodbye/grieve for someone you haven't met. odd phenomenon.
ReplyDeletebut speaking of your iphone, i'm doing a giveaway for a case today, maybe you'll like them!

ReplyDeleteThat's so sad. It's easy to get attached to people, especially when you have a certain bond.
ReplyDeleteOn the subject, I do wonder what happens to people's social accounts when they pass. Sad to thing about it.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend passing. That's so tragic. I don't know why these things happen and maybe there is no reason. My heart goes out to all of you who loved her. Makes you realize we must cherish our loved ones. Life is sweet in every moment. Hugs!
