i know summer isn't until next saturday but we might as well call it summer now because the weather has been hot, humid and muggy. but that's ok because i love summer {as if i haven't said this enough on the blog already} and with all things that i love i thought i'd turn it in a list. because i love lists. in the past, i worked with youth one time on a blogging project and i always told them that lists worked great in a post. i got this from reading walter mosley's "10 things" list on the nation - like "ten things you need to know to live on the streets" or "ten things you can do to start a community garden". maybe i shouldn't have put that in because my lists probably won't be as thought provoking.. hmm... {but i needed a way to squeeze in walter mosley and his ten things so i guess it's ok}
so here is a nod to my favorite season.. ten things i love about summer.
1. handstands in the pool.
2. small town carnivals and funnel cakes.
3. sparklers, fireworks and the whole shebang.
4. the smell of sunblock.
5. drinking homemade iced tea in front of the low-speed humming fan.
6. scary stories to tell in the dark.
7. chu chu bars {ìˆìˆë°”}.
8. picnics, bbqs and doggy play dates all wrapped up in one.
9. corn.
10. the sound of cicadas {although the sight of them scares the living daylights out of me}.

DeleteOh Summer you can do no wrong, I love the fact that you feel like springing out of bed in the morning more than in Winter. Nothing worse then being so cold you're robbed of all motivation to do anything except be warm :P
ReplyDeletei know!! i hate having to move around in the cold!
DeleteOh my gosh I thought I was the only person who loves the sound of cicadas. Everyone thinks I am crazy when I say I love that sound. I admit, summer is my least favorite season though. I know I know, it's crazy. But I LOVE winter and fall :-)
ReplyDeletei grew up listening to them in korea! they were evvverrrrywhere and they even stuck to our window screens! my dad would grab them and bring them inside which totally freaked me out!
