piri's favorite time of day is when yangkyu comes home from work.
around 30 minutes before yangkyu arrives, i open up our front door so that piri can look out from our see-through storm door. when i hear two car honks as i'm preparing dinner i know that's yangkyu signaling that he's pulling up in our driveway. that's when i open the storm door for piri so he can rush out, butt wiggling and shaking with joy. he then proceeds to shower yangkyu with the most happiest welcome home dance a dog can give. this happens every. single. weekday.
there is always content out there somewhere about achieving a state of happiness based on the simple things in life. some media platforms will give you a guideline or a how-to. then it somehow turns into a trend that everyone talks about and somehow the point is missed. well, you want to know something about being happy with the simple things in life? go learn from a dog. they can teach you a whole lot about it. like mine who gets so much joy out of welcoming home the humans in his life and never tires from doing it. even after 15 years. this is just pure simple happiness to him. no money, no likes and no hashtags involved {although i like to think that if piri can use hashtags he would've used something like #myhumanslovewelcomehomedances}.

DeleteAww this is the sweetest thing. Dogs are genuinely happy when they see their human friends. His expressions are priceless. I really wish my cats are that happy to see us coming home. One of them look out the window as if she knows my husband is coming.
ReplyDeleteawww that's so sweet :) cats have other unique qualities about them when they show affection. even if show 100% independence it's nice to know that they're around!
DeleteI love the ears flapping!
ReplyDeleteI always believe we can learn a lot from our pets. They live in the moment. They love freely. They don't judge. They know how to forgive.

ReplyDeleteSo much sweetness! The joys of having a dog is learning about and receiving unconditional love.
ReplyDeleteThis is the sweetest!!! I also have to admit that my favorite seconds of the day are when we came back home and Juno is waiting with excitement (or sometimes just too sleepy and yawning) at the door. We even sometimes call her name from the outside or slowly open the door ;) so we all get more excited, hahahha. Piri is the cutest! Love the 3-scene pics!
