Over the weekend we packed up our little hatchback and set off about a hour away to Rolling River Farm in Front Royal, VA. We stayed in a pretty yellow farmhouse and spent a wonderful couple of days with our friends, Suzanne and Min and their baby girl Olivia, and Yoel and Rara, and all our dogs, Hiro the Shiba Inu, Mini the Westie and Piri the Cocker Spaniel {wow - they sound like the power rangers don't they? heh}. Yangkyu and I packed a bunch of things - books, running shoes, yarn, board games, video games - but in the end we mostly ate, explored the grounds, ate some more, laughed and immersed ourselves in good conversations. We all got to know each other better and sort of cemented this friendship a little deeper and tighter. It was such a good weekend.
Toward the end of our trip we were already beginning plans and dreaming up a getaway again as a group for the summer. We're thinking The Outer Banks in North Carolina. The dogs are definitely going again, too. We can't wait. Yangkyu and I couldn't be happier to be able to plan these things, get away with friends and have Piri join in as well.
Here are some pictures from the weekend at Rolling River Farm.
