I'm a big homebody. I love staying in doing things I love and spending time with Yangkyu and Piri. I'm content with just phone calls and messaging with friends. Even when I lived near my closest girlfriends I hardly met up with them. Sometimes they would have to drag me out or come visit Hermit Jane in her hermit abode.
My husband thinks I'm unusual this way and is awed by the long periods I can go without seeing people. Well he certainly did marry an extreme introverted oddball.
When we started DogVacay, I began with the intention of ensuring the owners that their dogs would never be left home alone. With my personality I knew this would be something that wouldn't be hard to do. And we've done this with each of our DogVacay guests without any urges on my part to be out and about.
During the month of December to early January though, we had one dog after another and by the time the last of our doggy guests left I was itching to meet up with friends. This came as a pleasant shock to Yangkyu - even Jane has moments when she is the first to say she wants to meet up with friends! Wow!
And so that's exactly what we did. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday {three days in a row!} we met up with our friends, ate good food, shared some really great laughs and had a movie night. Piri got to see Mini and Hiro, too, but mostly he was relentless in begging for food to all the humans around. Bless our friends for having patient and kind hearts. Piri can really throw a Class A tantrum.
It was a wonderful weekend. Yangkyu and I also spent some time making and doing -- we added little things to our kitchen to make more storage space in our kitchen. We're planning on hanging our pots and pans. We also bought a hanging basket for our fruits and bread, too. We finished a project we started a while back. I'll share photos of that in another post. Finally, I picked up some sample paint and a wood board to make some photo boards to use as backdrops. I can't wait to start using them.
We're starting the new week with a new Dogvacay guest. His name is Hodoo, a 2 year old toy poodle. Later on in the week, we'll have another toy poodle, Sobe, come stay with us and Murray is coming back again, too. These stays will take us to next week.
Goodbye relaxing weekend and hello early mornings and busy weekdays!

ReplyDeletehigh five! :)
DeleteI totally know what you mean about being a hermit crab! But yes, even hermit crabs need to see friends, and I'm so glad you did just that over the weekend -- for three days in a row! & sounds like your DogVacay business is taking off! Great job! :)
ReplyDeleteoh i love hearing from other hermit crabs!! doesn't make me feel so odd
DeleteOmg this is so me...I also just love being a hermit, I can go a weirdly long time without seeing people too haha. And I can TOTALLY appreciate how big of a deal three whole days in a row is! And I love your photos as always.
ReplyDeletehaha! :D
DeleteJane, I'm an introvert too! I can go weeks without going out of the house....which unfortunately has not happened in a while....sigh....:P
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead!
i love it when i find out that i'm not the only introvert that likes to live under a rock! :D
DeleteI'm a super homebody person as well haha :P
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm totally fine with it. And going out to
see faces and do fun activities in every now
and then is fine too c:
I really can't imagine Piri in class A tantrum
really! Xx
yes yes! i'm with you :) oh and piri can throw such tantrums and be so relentless and stubborn. his cute face says otherwise ;)
DeleteMy husband and I are total homebodies as well especially during the winter when it just takes too much time and effort to get dressed to go out LOL
ReplyDeleteyes! sometimes when the house is cold i don't want to do anything! :)
DeleteI'm a homebody too Jane! I can find a million things to do at home and be just as content. I've never been much to have to always go somewhere. I get out. I just don't like hanging out all day or night. Your home looks great! I love the touches you two are adding. Piri, begging? No way! I'm still laughing at that chicken bone from last year. At least his appetite is really good. Is he on medicine? That might make him hungry. Introduce us to the new part time additions! I love seeing the "visitors"

Deletesounds awesome! Love the brackets that Yangkyu put up in the kitchen! What a great spot!
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel about "staying in." Sometimes, I can go for long periods without needing to see anyone either. =) Funny how that works.

it was so hard to find a spot to hang our pots. i hope this does the trick! my heart just wants to renovate the kitchen altogether but i must be patient :)
DeleteYour homelife looks and sounds blissful, Jane. I'm a big homebody too but I must admit it is nice to see my friends once in a while
ReplyDeletethank you~~
DeleteYou are such a wonderful person in hosting your Doggie Vacay hotel and they are so lucky to be staying with you. After this past weekend, I have such an appreciation for what you do for our furry pals :)
ReplyDelete:) thanks!!
DeleteI get it. I am more than happy with just myself too. and even though I prefer cats over dogs, I think animals are great company and often all you need :)
ReplyDeleteyes! piri likes his space too but sometimes he comes over and demands scratches. i like my space but sometimes i want to cuddle. it works ;)
DeleteWell it must of felt like the right time to get out, always do what's best for you. Love hearing about the DogVacay, seems to be going well.
ReplyDeleteBuckets & Spades
thanks mat!
DeleteJane I can relate so much to this, I'm a class A anti-social, introvert too but when I do socialise I realise how fun it is and tell myself I need to do more of it!
ReplyDeletetee hee!!! i love this "Class A Anti-Social, Introvert" ;)
DeleteGreat addition the hanging baskets! they look great, I would love to see another picture with the veggies and fruits inside. I also relate with being able to spend lots of time only the three of us, but then we go for a movie date with friends and I remember how extremely fun it is :)
ReplyDeleteYay for friend filled weekends. I also tend to be a homebody, happy with my hubby and my cats. Even when we do socialize we always try as hard as we can to have people come to our place. I know it seems selfish, but sometimes it's the only way we see anyone. :p
