Yangkyu commented the other day how it made him sad looking at Piri from the backside. He is noticeably thin. His hips have gotten so boney as his shoulders, ribs and legs.
At his healthiest, Piri was 33 pounds. With his kidney disease he has steadily lost weight. We had a vet visit yesterday to recheck his kidney values and we noticed that he lost weight again. He is now 22 pounds.
This weekend we're going away. We rented a neat little farmhouse with our friends and we are all spending a couple of days there with all the dogs. It's just a short drive away but the place looks like it's deep in the mountains, secluded and vast. Yangkyu and I are so very thankful for this opportunity to steal away with Piri and enjoy time with good company. I can't wait for Piri to find out what we're doing and for him to see his friends, Hiro and Mini.
What are you doing over the weekend?
I hope it's something that makes you incredibly happy and relaxed. See you on Monday.

That sounds like such a nice getaway with friends. I hope Piri feels better soon! I'm sure he'll love the getaway as well!
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip Jane! You all deserve it! Getting away helps a lot. Is Piri not eating as much as he use to? Or is it just his medical condition? I know we often had to switch up things my dog ate, because she grew tired of certain dog foods.

Sounds like a great time, I hope you'll have a wonderful week end away with your dogs ! We are hoping for snow this week end here in the Cévennes (south of France) so I'm probably not gonna get out the house too much except for my daily walks and seeing my friends !

I think I saw the beautiful photos on IG! It DOES look secluded and wonderful. You'll have to share with me where it was. Hope Piri and all had a great time!
ReplyDeleteThat is adorable! We took our family dog for a road trip last month and she LOVED it. She was so calm and patient and we were so worried she might not do well. I hope Piri is doing well now! xx
ReplyDeleteI still get sad and a little worrisome when I read updates about Piri's health because Piri has a little soft place in my heart. I really hope his health improves, but I know that whatever the case may be, life is beautiful for him especially surrounded by people like you and your hubby who give lots and lots of love.
ReplyDeleteS/N: I saw how lovely your weekend away was in the other post. Peace and love to all of you <3
He's still adorable :] It breaks my heart how skinny animals get when they aren't feeling well though :[
