December and the very beginning of January has been packed here. Piri's Place was all booked for the holidays and we constantly had dogs stay with us and keep us company. The last of our guests, Murray {who was still terribly camera shy but showed some patience listening to me sing} left yesterday, and while I already miss having our furry vacationers scurry and nap around the house, I look forward to spending some alone time with Piri and Yangkyu.
And I am also looking forward to tidying up and decluttering the house.
And getting to know my new sewing machine.
And figuring out embroidery for beginners.
And finding solutions to maximize space in our small kitchen.
I have books I want to read, podcasts I want to listen to {speaking of, I finally listened to Serial that everyone was talking about and I was so hooked I finished Season 1 in two days}, cowls and hats I want to knit and recipes I want to try.
I'm so excited for all of these things that I wish there was more hours in the day so I can tackle them all at once. That would be crazy and amazing at the same time.

What are you doing, making or learning in the new year? I hope it's something that keeps you occupied for hours on end.
Some happy December moments around here {lots of doggy pictures ahead}..

ADORABLE! Makes me want to take more photos of our dogs! Where do you get your yarn from? it's such a unique texture!

DeleteSo many cute pups!
ReplyDeleteAnd a new sewing machine is a thing to celebrate!!
I have two [small] beginner embroidery projects up on my blog: a necklace and a personal motto banner (http://byov.blogspot.com/search?q=embroider ) ...but I also really like this cross stitch sampler from Posie Gets Cozy: http://rosylittlethings.typepad.com/posie_gets_cozy/2012/03/winterwoods-abcs-cross-stitch-sampler-kit-and-embroidery-supplies-now-on-sale.html
Cross stitch isn't quite embroidery, but the end result is still sooo pretty!
I'll have to go check the links out! thanks so much!
