changing up the walls {not the color}. a little project.

there are so many little projects on my to-do list that it almost felt like they were becoming an impossible dream. but now that i have a bit more time on my hands, i decided to take a re-look at that list.

there are the scrapbooks i said i would make of our wedding and honeymoon {yep.. this is going on four years people..}, making a photo book of our life with piri, finding the perfect dining table and re-doing wall art. right now i just have a bunch of frames and pictures throughout the apartment. but i want to re-do them.

i've been going through pinterest to get ideas on wall collages, wall art and chalkboard walls {even though i won't be able to do this yet, but it still feels good to just daydream}. i've also been going through pictures and saving the ones i like into a little folder i made on my desktop and scouring etsy to look for beautiful prints {and boy are there many!}

while this process seems all overwhelming {too many things i want to hang up!}, i do have three prints that are patiently waiting to be framed and hung. there are these prints by albie designs i won in a giveaway back in may.
aren't they beautiful? she has so many stunning prints of cities across the world and also really really cleverly adorable prints like this one and this

hopefully soon i will have other pictures and prints picked out, bought, developed and framed to go along with these.

do you have any special tips or advice on how to's for picking out wall art or wall collages? i would love to know!

  1. These prints are beautiful and I'm sure they'll be lovely on your wall. I don't think you can really go wrong with wall art if you put up what you love.

  4. If I was more organized I would be using paper to plan my framed art layouts, but as it is I usually just pick one piece as a focal point and hang everything else around it as it gets framed. Maybe not the most precise method, but it works for us. ;)

  13. The lovely prints you've selected are in the same tone so they would work well together and it's fun adding other patterns and colors as well. When we did one gallery wall, we traced the frames on paper and pasted them on the wall to see how they all balance together. From there we could play with the artworks before drilling. We also tried making a mock up arrangement on photoshop to see how well they can be placed. Enjoy and have fun decorating. :)

  16. When I created my very cheap temporary gallery wall I just winged it. I started by hanging 2 photos and added them to the wall as I collected them. It grew organically and easily without any planning and measuring involved! Have fun! http://www.thelovelynest.com/2013/02/my-gallery-wall.html
