have a delightful weekend + links

lately it has been really cold, dreary, gloomy, rainy and did i already say cold? well it deserves a second mention. so we're officially calling it hat weather.

what are your plans for the weekend?

we're hoping to squeeze in an apple picking trip we didn't get to go last weekend {although we would love to be in new york city for comic con/anime convention}. when we tried to go {the orchard doesn't allow dogs}, piri went bonkers - trying to squeeze through the door to get out and scratching at the door when we closed it. his reaction completely threw us off and we ended up canceling our trip. here's to better luck this weekend {please don't rain}.

whatever it is you have planned, or not, have a delightful weekend and hope you enjoy these links.

 // the most beautiful music you will ever hear.

 // a mug that wakes up with you in the morning.

 // happy halloween

 // this would be a great read.

 // 17 reasons why a shelter dog can be your best friend. {october is adopt a shelter dog month}

 // 30 diy halloween decorations

 // we love pink martini and their happiness list

 // 12 tasty recipes for shrimp. {too bad yangkyu is allergic}

 //  a recent etsy favorite.

 // vegan wear for the colder months.

jane

ps - thank you so much for noticing the layout change to the blog and leaving thoughtful comments. i was a bit embarrassed and didn't really mention it. my old blog felt like a cluttered room {you know the kind of clutter during colder days}. now it just feels like i hid the mess under the bed and closet hoping that people won't notice the mess that still exists. hopefully one of these days i'll get my ducks in row and have a nice design and layout with a color scheme to boot. yes.. one of these days.

  9. Do you have plans on what to do with the apples from the orchard (other than eating it as is -- that's actually my favorite!)? I love Martha's seasonal produce recipe guide. I was looking over the pumpkin guide earlier this week, and I noticed they also have "A is for Apples" guide: http://www.marthastewart.com/275039/apple-recipes/@center/276955/seasonal-produce-recipe-guide.

  16. I need that mug in my life. For sure. And even though halloween isn't that big over here in Holland, I think those DIY ideas are pretty damn neat! I should definitely get to another halloween party once in my life.

    And oh dear, what a shame you didn't make it to comiccon/anime con. But it would be so sad to leave Piri while he's going bonkers. Have a great weekend though!
