hooray for the weekend. this week was a bit funky for us. weather wise that is. it's been warm. reached the sixties yesterday. today we're enjoying a quiet day indoors since rain decided to pay us a visit. as i write this, piri is snoring on our bed in front of the space heater. he looks incredibly adorable.
what do you have planned for the weekend?
we're picking up pretty parchment and wax paper, gift boxes and cello bags to send our holiday cookies in. i did a test run of some jelly filled butter cookies last night and they were tasty! we're going to use these pretty downloadable holiday tags created by jessica over at the creative index {she's so talented! and her cocker spaniel looks just like mine!} and hopefully these cookies will be shipped by next week. crossing my fingers!
our holiday cards also came in the mail yesterday. they are from minted. i love them. {i actually love their entire non-photo card collection}. we opted to do a non-photo card this year. i love the typography, the greeting and the simple sign-off. so we'll also be writing notes to our friends and family members all weekend long. this is really the best part about christmas. writing snail mail.
hope your weekend is merry and bright!
ps - i laughed so hard{!!} at some of the childhood christmas stories you shared on this post. thank you so much for sharing them. oh the things our parents did to make us believe in santa. i was also very touched at non-memory related comments about hard working parents. made me realize to hug my parents extra harder. they live in korea now so this morning i sent them an e-hug. extra hard e-hug.
pps - enter for a chance to win an ipad mini here!

Thanks for the link to the holiday tags, Jane. And your holiday cards are super pretty.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I've never been on minted before but I'll definitely be shopping around now :). I just got my cards I ordered from the paper cub on Etsy and I'm obsessed. They are so cute!
ReplyDeleteOur weather has been strange too, but the opposite... 39 degrees in Los Angeles this morning, I didn't know what to do!
The tags Jessica designed are seriously awesome! jelly filled butter cookies sound so nice-- that's so sweet of you to pack them up and send them out. I haven't really looked into Minted before--but it looks like it's all kinds of pretty. :) Hope you have a lovely weekend, Jane!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are so festive and pretty! I think we've been having the same weather as you but it's getting cold again next week. Happy weekend Jane!

Sweet Christmas cards c:
ReplyDeleteAnd good job with the jelly cookies, I want
some!
And about The Hunger Games 2, I think
its not bloody or gory like seeing arms,
legs, heads chopped off. Of course there
are people dying unfortunate but I think
its really ok c: Xx
your weekend sounds like it will be joyful. =) Love Minted! We don't typically send holiday cards but every year we get closer to doing so. Perhaps when we have a kid we will be able to share more. =)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!

I LOVE your Christmas cards. I wish I'd been organized enough this year to get new ones. Guess it's gonna be whatever I've got left over this year. Sigh.

The weather has been crazy here -- freezing cold then in the '70s. Ridiculousness!

Love your typographic cards!!!! How lucky are your friends & family :) That cute detail of "The yoos" also kills me: sweetest family. Hope you had a nice weekend, we were lucky to have my mom here, so I will remember to hug her hard!
ReplyDeleteThose cards are soo cute!!! And congrats on your cookies! We (I, my mom, and my sister) traveled back to the province this weekend. Pretty much uneventful. I hope yours was super fun! ♡ :-)
ReplyDeleteI've never made a Christmas card before... is that something couples start doing when they get married?
ReplyDelete7% Solution
haha. perhaps! but families have done it and i think sometimes siblings do it together. :)
DeleteThese are lovely! Minted has a great selection. I'll definitely be using them next year!!
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with minted. I personally prefer nonphoto everything. Our save the dates were like that and our holiday cards are too. I just like the craftmanship put into something like that. Hope you had a merry weekend! It's been (L.A.) cold here. Brrrr….(for us)!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great weekend! I love cards from minted!
