hello monday. wow. i feel like i lost my head somewhere between thursday and sunday. so much was going on and more than half of it was food. it's strangely quiet this morning which makes it seem like thanksgiving and our friends visiting happened ages ago.
did you all have a good thanksgiving?
ours was small and cozy. i ended up picking recipes and tips that some of you suggested - like rooth's {from a miusmie} soft pillow roll recipe hit it out of the ballpark, mariko's (from gamerwife} tip to mix in blueberries in the cranberry sauce worked like magic and jessica's {from creative index} apple pomegranate spritzer drink recipe was so delicious.
over the weekend we had a couple more friends from new york who came to visit. it was like an early christmas for us. they came and gave us good company but also gifted us with lovely things like doughnuts from doughnut plant, baked goods from veniero's cafe, matching new york mets caps and beautiful christmas ornaments from anthropologie. we miss them terribly {already} and can't wait for them to come visit us again. {soon please!}
we managed to squeeze in a korean style bbq party in our home, make trips to the museums in dc, walk around eastern market, do some shopping in georgetown, try ethiopian food for the first time at keren restaurant in adams morgan, pick out a christmas tree and play so many rounds of clue {our favorite!}. we also managed to laugh until our faces and stomachs hurt.
it wasn't a bad thanksgiving weekend. not bad at all. and piri loved all the extra attention and love he got. it was so precious to see.
hope you all had a wonderful holiday and weekend with loved ones. have a good week ahead! it's december!
** i also realized i didn't take as many pictures as i usually do. i think i was having too much fun. but here are some shots from our weekend.

Deletethese photos are great! I love the blurred tree with lights. =D
ReplyDeleteYour Thanksgiving break sounds lovely! We also had a nice one. We picked up our tree for the season as well and I couldn't be happier with it. It's smaller than what we would normally get but we are running tight on space in our apt and it's giving us more reason to move. haha.
