just for fun: which wedding gown would you pick now?

yangkyu and i are going to celebrate 4-year wedding anniversary this month. i'm having all kinds of nostalgia going through our photos and our music {we absolutely loved all the music we picked}. and just for the fun of it, i hopped on google and browsed through wedding dresses. i loved the one i wore on our wedding day {i wanted a fun bottom, which it had, but ultimately it was the french bustle that won me over. boy was it was pretty}. but my first choice was actually a jcrew wedding gown similar to this one {i love dresses with pockets}, although it didn't end up working out {didn't match the venue they said...}

and if i could choose now?

i think i would definitely still keep the fun bottoms. there are so many pretty ones with big, soft ruffles. and sashes. i came across these lovely vera wang dresses below and fell in love with them, especially the one with the black sash. the bottom on that one is just too pretty.

what about you? would you choose differently now?
or if you haven't worn a wedding gown yet, what kind of dress is your style?

ps - i also love the gowns at bhldn. especially this one and this
pps - my dress was actually a rental. would you/did you buy or rent?

  1. I was "lucky" enough to find myself getting married twice. :P The first time around I went with a pretty formal, but simple strapless gown with a slight mermaid train.

    The second time around, I went with my gut an wore a custom made tea-length dress with bright blue shoes! No special underwear required, and I was super comfortable all night.

  2. I would totally pick that first dress! It's stunning and gorgeous.. and really the opposite of what my actual gown looked like. But this is just for fun, right? :)

  3. The first dress would be my pick. My wedding gown had a similar shape to the first one minus the black belt replaced with a straight bodice, but it's shorter in length because the venue was in a garden but I still ended up stepping on the dress. Strapless with gathered ruffles at the bottom that starts at the hips.I had to wear a really tight corset to get the figure right and I couldn't eat much at the wedding. :)

  4. I actually picked out the first wedding gown I tried on, which wasn't too exciting, I guess, but I did love it:) Honestly, I probably would've gone a different style now. Probably something a lot more simpler, and probably not white:P
    I love that second gown you picked.

  9. These are all really pretty dresses. It would be hard to choose, but knowing what I know, I'm glad I had the opportunity to do my wedding right the second time, which is to go with something very simple and use that money for something else. That's a story I'll save for later! -Jess L

  11. I really don't know what kind of wedding dress I really like. But the last one sure is gorgeous. I think when I'll ever marry, if I ever marry (hehe), I will go for something memorable but nothing too pricey? Or maybe I will, I don't know. Again, happy anniversary!

  12. Happy anniversary to you! :D Goodness, these are all so pretty. I love the first one, with that elegant black bow. I definitely don't want just a plain white gown. I love these ruffles! They look ethereal. Following you on GFC and Bloglovin'!

    May the Force be with you.
